Rally Bulldog 2011

Rally Bulldog 2011, 6th overall and 1st BRC 4WD Category
First of all Tom, Alistair and the team would like to thank their sponsors, Labcraft  Led Lighting, Lucas Oils, 019 Racewear, Ernest Doe, TEG sport and Langley park rally school for their support on this event. The rally team arrived in Welshpool on Thursday evening, first Tom and Alistair had to sign on for the event at 7pm, then it was back to the accommodation to prepare for the next day. Friday morning bright and early, Tom and Alistair head off for RECCE at 7am, meanwhile Simon, Bryan, Pat, Tim and Dom head off to Welshpool livestock Market which would be the service area for the weekend. So service set up, car ready. Simon takes the car to scrutineering, re fuel and noise test. Car passes noise test and scrutineering and fuel is added. Tom and Alistair get back from RECCE at 3pm and report that the stages are very rough. Tom and Alistair get all kitted up and off they go to the ceremonial start, once the rally was officially started the car goes back to park ferme, basically where the cars are kept overnight. Back off to the accommodation, Alistair finishes finalising his pace notes. Saturday morning, 7am rally team departs the cottage and heads for the service area, Tom and Alistair must check out of service at 07:57 otherwise they will get a time penalty. Tom and Alistair are off to the first stage and clear the stage 6th fastest therefore putting them 6th overall. Onto stage two, unfortunately Tom reports that the car seems to be down on power, therefore he was 15th fastest dropping them to 12th overall, Tom tries to fix the car on the road section, hoping that he has fixed the problem they head onto stage three. He reports that the work he did in the road section has improved the power, not perfect but he can work with it. Over the next two stages he manages to pull them back to 8th overall, brilliant !! Then it’s into service 1, general checks done on the car and see if we can fix the power problem, car gets a quick clean and they are back off again. Stage 5 and 6 and Tom pick the pace up bringing them back up to 6th overall. Stage 7 is cleared and Alistair rings the team to report that they are on their way back to service. Service 2, front tyres are changed, again general checks on the car, car gets a quick clean. Stage 8, 9 and 10, Toms aim is just to now get the car home with some points, meanwhile the team packs up the service area and gets ready for the finish. Toms and Alistair have done it, they complete the last stage, everyone is happy, no major dramas, Tom comes over the finish ramp, 6th overall and 1st BRC 4WD Category.
Again the rally team would like to thank the sponsors and all the fans continued support, comments and interest.
Thanks Tom, Alistair and team
